Camp Directors

Kathy Gallagher

USMS National Champion and Certified USMS Level 3 Coach, Coach of Northern Arizona Masters since 2010

Kathy draws her coaching skills and style from training with coaches who rank as icons of USA Swimming – Pat Hogan, Frank Busch, Skip Kenney, Dennis Pursley, and Bob Gillett. Though she now focuses on teaching and training adult swimmers, Kathy coached state and national level age group swimmers early in her career and has coached high school swimming as well. Her swimmers have won state titles and achieved top ten national rankings. One of Kathy’s basic philosophies is that developing the skills that make swimming joyful leads naturally to excellent technique and group camaraderie. She accommodates different learning styles through instruction that integrates data, self-assessment, visual aids, and language. Once a world-ranked swimmer, Kathy still competes as a US Masters swimmer and holds a Level III US Masters Swimming coaches certification.

Liz Hobbs

USMS National Champion and Certified USMS Level 3 Coach, Coach of Northern Arizona Masters and Volunteer Asst. Coach for Northern Arizona University Swimming and Diving since 2001

Liz was also lucky to swim and learn from such coaching icons as Archie Harris, Jim and Bev Montrella, and Don Gambril. An All American sprinter at Alabama, Liz started coaching right out of college and has never really stopped. She has more than 20 years experience as a college assistant coach, the last 15 of those as a volunteer assistant with NAU Swimming and Diving. She has been head coach for Northern Arizona Masters since 2001. She enjoys helping people improve through learning how to swim more efficiently. Liz has won several USMS National titles in the 50 free, and holds a Level II US Masters Swimming coaches certification.
